Artwork by Barbara Gonyo at Des Plaines Library in April

Artwork done in a variety of mediums created by artist Barbara Gonyo, will be on display at the Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood Street, in the 3rd floor gallery area from April 1st through April 29th.

Barbara, a member of the Des Plaines Art Guild dpag.org, has been painting as long as she could remember. Her artistic skills have brought her joy, whether being granted a scholarship to the Art Institute in eighth grade, taking classes at the local park district or from neighborhood teachers. She loves painting with other artists, as it is inspiring to paint, laugh and learn from each other.

Her artwork is done in a variety of subject matters and mediums. Barbara enjoys using any medium possible, including oils, acrylics and pastels. She says each medium has a way of bringing the beauty of the world to a subject, whether it is a person, animal or landscape.
