Bob Kaplan gets his vote for District 54 school board

First on the ballot and my first vote for District 54 Board of Education is Bob Kaplan.

Kaplan is District 54. He attended grade school and junior high in the district and was hired there as a social studies teacher. After a long and successful career teaching in the district, he finished as a building principal.

Last year the District 54 board, with an opening on the board, considered a number of possible candidates and decided he was best for the position. Since his appointment he has undertaken the goal of visiting every one of the 28 schools in the district, a goal he will have achieved as of the election.

I had the privilege of teaching Bob the Social Science survey when he was a senior at Conant and later saw him coach at Hoffman Estates High School.

Bob Kaplan is a strong, independent advocate of quality education achieved at a reasonable price. He can speak for the students and the taxpayers. He has earned your trust.

I will also be voting for incumbent Charlotte Kegarise with complete confidence that she will continue the leadership she has long given the District 54 board. I am glad that she is running for re-election.
