Abortion bill must be stopped

House Bill 40 reinstates taxpayer-funded abortions for Illinois Medicaid recipients and adds abortion coverage in state employees' insurance plans.

It will also remove language from the 1975 Abortion Law which states that "the unborn child is a human being from the time of conception, and is, therefore, a legal person" and further declares that the only reason the state does not prohibit abortion is due to Supreme Court's Roe vs. Wade ruling, legalizing abortion.

The bill is on its third reading and the Illinois House of Representatives may be called to vote on it at any time. Everyone who believes in the rights of the unborn, your Illinois representative must hear your voice. Contact your representative today and implore him/her to vote no on HB 40. Make your voice heard by email, phone calls or Facebook. The people of this state who believe in the sanctity of life should not be forced to pay for abortions through the full nine months of pregnancy.
