DH missed boat in Dist. 200 endorsement
The District 200 Board recommendations by the Daily Herald staff lacked substance. The lack of effective fiscal management discipline by recent boards was not thoroughly evaluated.
Further, this is not a "one issue" election as all of the candidates want to see the needs of the schools addressed, they just disagree on how to achieve them. The significant debt financing proposed by the current board will put the district and its taxpayers in financial jeopardy for at least a decade.
We need board members with the management experience and skills represented by the candidates that the Daily Herald failed to endorse to put the proposed plan on the right track.
