Consider what GOP is doing beyond Trump

Don't let Mr. Trump's frequent and frivolous tweets distract us from the outrageous work of some of the Republican members of Congress. Freshman Rep Matt Gaetz (Florida) introduced HR861 to eliminate the EPA by Dec, 31, 2018.

Our EPA enforces the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act and the Superfund Act. I remember when fish couldn't live in the Chicago River, when Chicago's winter snow was gray with coal soot. We breathe cleaner air, enjoy cleaner rivers and lakes thanks in great part to the EPA.

Ironically the day Interior Secretary Zinke repealed the Obama-era ban on use of lead amnion in national parks, a bald eagle in Washington died of lead poisoning. The Congressional scallywags supporting HR861 don't represent the good of their constituents, they are doing the bidding of a tired fossil fuel industry. We owe a livable planet to each other, our children and our grandchildren. Say no to HR861.
