Dunkin' Donuts opening in Elk Grove Village

A new Dunkin' Donuts is opening Thursday, March 16, in Elk Grove Village with guest appearances from Chicago celebrities and local elected officials.

Doors open for the national chain's newest coffee shop at 2750 W. Touhy Ave. with a 7:30 a.m. performance by the Friendship Junior High School band. Fayyaz Gillani, owner of the new Dunkin' Donuts, will also present a $500 donation to the band.

The Elk Grove Food Pantry staff will also be available to accept donations until 10:30 a.m. Everyone who donates will receive a free travel mug and coupon for a free medium coffee.

In addition, the Chicago Bulls' Luvabulls and Bucket Boys along with Benny the Bull will be on site from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Mayor Craig Johnson and chamber of commerce members will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m.
