No injuries reported in Elgin fire late Sunday

No one was injured in a fire in an Elgin home late Sunday, officials said.

The Elgin Fire Department was called to the fire in the 300 block of Dundee Road by a person who saw flames from the rear of the home at 9:29 p.m., authorities said.

Authorities said firefighters arrived at the scene within three minutes and met police officers assisting residents out of the home.

Fire crews began extinguishing the fire and searching the home for residents.

The fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes, officials said. The damage caused by the blaze is estimated to be about $60,000, officials said.

The fire remains under investigation.
