Sugar Grove Chamber to host candidate forum March 14

The Sugar Grove Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sugar Grove Herald/Shaw Media, and the law office of White & Ekker, P.C., invite the community to "Meet the Candidates Night" on Tuesday, March 14, at the Sugar Grove Public Library, 125 S. Municipal Drive. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with the event starting at 5:30 p.m.

This forum, which is free to attend and open to the public, allows all candidates in the April 4 Consolidated Election to provide brief introductions of themselves to those in attendance. This includes candidates for Sugar Grove Fire Protection District, Sugar Grove Park District, Sugar Grove Public Library District, Sugar Grove Township Supervisor, Sugar Grove Township Clerk, Sugar Grove Township Assessor, Sugar Grove Township Highway Commissioner, Sugar Grove Township Trustee, Sugar Grove Township Community Building Manager, Sugar Grove Village President, Sugar Grove Village Board, Kaneland Unit District 302 Board, and Waubonsee Community College 516 Trustee positions.

In the contested races, candidates for Sugar Grove Township Assessor, Sugar Grove Village Trustee, and Kaneland Unit District 302 board positions also will participate in a special question-and-answer forum run by a moderator.

Before the event, community members are encouraged to submit questions for the candidates that may be used during the Q&A, with the understanding that time for questions will be limited. Submit questions to the Sugar Grove Chamber via email to info@sugargrovechamber.org by Thursday, March 9.

This event is being held during the early stages of early voting so that everyone will have the opportunity to hear from candidates before casting ballots if they would like. The early voting runs March 10 through April 3.

The Sugar Grove Chamber of Commerce and Industry has at its focus the Sugar Grove business community. With the interests of its members and community in mind, the chamber has hosted the "Meet the Candidates Night" for over 20 years, and is pleased to welcome the Sugar Grove Herald/Shaw Media, and White & Ekker, P.C., as sponsors.
