Silver Alert issued for man last seen in McHenry
A Silver Alert has been issued for a 66-year-old man with Alzheimer's disease, who became lost while driving in Glendale Heights Wednesday, officials say.
Steven Wood, of El Paso, Illinois, was last spotted at Route 31 and Route 120 in McHenry about 3:30 p.m., police said.
He had been following a tow truck at 10:09 a.m. on North Avenue in Glendale Heights before the alert was issued. Wood was driving a white, 1993 Chrysler New Yorker with the license plate number L534448.
He was visiting his daughter at the time and is not familiar with the area, according to a news release.
Wood is white, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 174 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a tan jacket, cargo shorts and slip-on shoes.
Wood does not have his cellphone or medication with him.
