Palatine plans St. Patrick's Day celebration

A previous version of this story erroneously stated that this year's festival would include an Irish Market. That portion of the festival will not be a part of this year's celebration.

Palatine will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a parade, food, drink, entertainment and shopping throughout the village during the seventh annual "Paint the Town Green" event Saturday, March 11.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. and will feature 50 entries, including Irish music by the Midlothian Scottish Bag Pipe Band and entertainment by The Trinity Irish Dancers. The parade's grand marshals will be Lucky McClover and Katie M'Lady. The parade will serve to collect donations for Journeys the Road Home, an organization serving the homeless and near-homeless in the North and Northwest suburbs.

Liz Noe, the event's coordinator, said the festival is going to be fun for the whole family.

Events will run through the day. For a full list, visit stpatspalatine.com.
