Faith sustains Crawford relatives as they cope with crash

In the face of the tragedy that took the lives of their daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, Erwin and Ursel Schmidt say they are relying on their strong faith to sustain them. Yesterday morning, nearly three days after the car crash in Des Plaines that killed 52-year-old Kevin Crawford, 50-year-old Anita Crawford and 20-year-old Kirsten, the Schmidts sat in a pew in the church they have called home for about 50 years, St. John Lutheran Church in Mount Prospect. $1 million bail set for two in drug-induced homicide case

Two men facing charges in connection with the January drug overdose death of an Addison man were ordered held on $1 million bail over the weekend, according to the DuPage County state's attorney's office. Jackie Dunklin, 25, of Glen Ellyn, and Kevin Jaap, 32, of Addison, were each charged with drug-induced homicide and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, officials said. Full story.

Motorcycle driver killed in Wadsworth crash

A 42-year-old Beach Park man was killed over the weekend when his motorcycle collided with another car in Wadsworth. The man, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown off his 2013 Harley Davidson when it rear-ended a 1985 Pontiac Fiero on Route 41, Lake County sheriff's police said. Blackhawks cruise past Sabres, 5-1

Ryan Hartman, Marian Hossa, Jonathan Toews, Artem Anisimov and Patrick Kane scored goals and Scott Darling made 24 saves as the Blackhawks cruised past host Buffalo 5-1 yesterday.
