Des Plaines history center celebrating Dr. Seuss Day

The Des Plaines History Center is celebrating Dr. Seuss Day by presenting a program and activities from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, for home-school students, and again 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 2, as an after-school program.

For the activity, each child will create a Lorax - a famous character created by Seuss - and make a treat to eat.

Children ages 5 to 12 are welcome to attend with a parent, adult guardian or their families. General admission is $3 per child to participate, or $2 per child with a history center membership.

The history center is at 781 Pearson St. in Des Plaines.
