Impose tolerance litmus test on refugees

Many European countries that have accepted large numbers of refugees from the Middle East are now questioning whether it was the right thing to do. Terrorist attacks and allegations of rape and robbery by gangs of refugees are the reasons.

I am not saying that every refugee is a terrorist or rapist but to ignore the probability that some are is naive. The travel ban was to seven countries to iron out a better way to vet them. The other predominantly Muslim countries were not affected by the ban, so it is not correct to say it was a ban on Muslims.

I find it ironic that our country, in the name of religious freedom, is willing to import some people who are not very tolerant themselves. Christians from the seven banned countries have been persecuted to this day. Their churches, holy sites and towns have been destroyed. Some Christians have literally been beheaded because of their faith. I recognize that these atrocities have been committed by members of ISIS but, how many of the refugees that we are welcoming to this country tacitly agree with this behavior?

Intolerant attitudes do not miraculously change when reaching American airspace. Is a better way to vet these people really out of line? I don't think so. It's about time that our politicians impose a tolerance litmus test on all refugees entering this country, the same that is expected of all American citizens.
