CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Marina Mabrey scored 24 of her career-high 29 points in the second half to help No. 7 Notre Dame hold off Clemson for its eighth straight victory, 84-80 on Thursday night.

The Fighting Irish (24-3, 12-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) broke a tie with No. 4 Florida State for the league lead. But when Nelly Perry rattled in a jumper with 11.5 seconds left, Notre Dame had let a 17-point lead slip to 82-80. That's when Mabrey saved the Irish with two clinching foul shots with eight seconds remaining. Arike Ogunbowale had 15 points, and Lindsay Allen 11 for the Fighting Irish.

Perry had a career best 24 points to lead Clemson. Kobi Thornton added 20 points, also a career best.

Notre Dame's Brianna Turner finished with just nine points, only the third time this season she was held under double digits.

VIRGINIA 60, NO. 4 FLORIDA STATE 51

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Dominique Toussaint scored five of her 14 points in the final 1:27, including the go-ahead 3-pointer, and Virginia held Florida State to five points in the fourth quarter.

Toussaint's 3-pointer, just the third of the night for the Cavaliers, put them in front 53-51, and after a turnover by the Seminoles, she hit a runner along the baseline from about 8 feet with 51 seconds left to put Virginia (17-9, 6-7 Atlantic Coast Conference) ahead to stay.

Ivey Slaughter scored 12 points for Florida State (23-4, 11-2).

NO. 3 MISSISSIPPI STATE 58, GEORGIA 49

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Ketara Chapel and Teaira McCowan each scored 14 points and Mississippi State rallied in the fourth quarter to beat Georgia.

Mississippi State (26-1, 12-1 Southeastern Conference) struggled on offense and trailed for nearly the entire game. But Chapel converted a 3-point play - making a layup while being fouled - to give the Bulldogs a 48-46 lead with less than three minutes left that they wouldn't surrender.

Caliya Robinson led Georgia (13-13, 5-8) with 13 points.

NO. 6 SOUTH CAROLINA 82, VANDERBILT 51

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Kaela Davis and Alaina Coates each scored 15 points and South Carolina rebounded after a loss to No. 1 Connecticut that stretched the Huskies' winning streak to 100.

Coates also had seven rebounds. A'ja Wilson added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Gamecocks (22-3, 12-1 Southeastern Conference).

Christa Reed led Vanderbilt (12-14, 2-11) with 11 points. The Commodores had 20 turnovers and made 12 shots from the field - the second time in SEC play a team has had fewer field goals than turnovers against South Carolina.

NO. 10 STANFORD 72, CALIFORNIA 66

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) - Alanna Smith scored a career-high 27 points and Erica McCall made a few big plays in the final minute, lifting No. 10 Stanford over California.

McCall put the Cardinal ahead with two free throws with 59.1 seconds left, then blocked a shot by Kristine Anigwe on the subsequent possession. Brittany McPhee padded the lead for Stanford (23-4, 13-2 Pac-12) by scoring a layup off an inbound play with 11 seconds left.

Smith scored seven straight points, pushing Stanford into a 64-61 lead when she made a 3-pointer with 2:39 left. But on the next possession, she fouled out, and Mikayla Cowling converted all three free throws for Cal (17-10, 5-10), tying the score at 64-all. Cowling had 14 points.

NO. 12 OHIO STATE 87, NEBRASKA 69

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Kelsey Mitchell hit five 3-pointers and scored 27 points, her eighth straight game with at least 20, and Ohio State beat Nebraska for its ninth straight victory.

Sierra Calhoun added 13 points for the Buckeyes (23-5, 13-1 Big Ten). Jessica Shepard had 28 points and 10 rebounds for the Cornhuskers (5-20, 1-12). They have lost eight straight.

NO. 13 DUKE 79, WAKE FOREST 53

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - Lexie Brown had 24 points, seven assists and four steals and Duke took control in the third quarter to beat Wake Forest.

Rebecca Greenwell added 18 points and seven rebounds, and Oderah Chidom had 17 points and eight rebounds for the Blue Devils (23-4, 11-3 Atlantic Coast Conference). They have won six straight.

Amber Campbell and Elisa Penna had 11 points each for Wake Forest (14-12, 5-8).

NO. 15 NORTH CAROLINA STATE 70, WAKE FOREST 58

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (AP) - Dominque Wilson scored 23 points and North Carolina State overcame a slow start to beat Boston College and reach 20 victories for the second straight season.

Jennifer Mathurin added 14 points for N.C. State (20-6, 10-3 Atlantic Coast Conference). Mariella Fasoula had 20 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Eagles (9-18, 2-12).

INDIANA 72, NO. 20 MICHIGAN 61

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Tyra Buss had 21 points, seven steals and three assists to help Indiana beat a ranked opponent for the first time this season.

Amanda Cahill added 15 points and 12 rebounds for Indiana (18-8, 8-5 Big Ten). Katelynn Flaherty led Michigan (21-6, 10-3) with 23 points.

LSU 67, NO. 23 TEXAS A&M 63

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Raigyne Moncrief scored 23 points, including five free throws in the final 23 seconds, and LSU upset Texas A&M.

Chloe Jackson added 17 points for LSU (18-8, 7-6 Southeastern Conference). Khaalia Hillsman had 24 points for the Aggies (19-7, 9-4).
