Police investigate Waukegan armed robbery

Waukegan police are investigating reports of an armed robbery on a city street Tuesday night.

According to police, officers called to the 400 block of Ridgeland Avenue at about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday met with a man who said he was walking in the area when he was approached by two suspects. One of the suspects showed a handgun and money and property was stolen from the victim, police said.

The suspects were described as black men in their 20s, standing 5'8" to 5'10", and dressed in dark hooded sweatshirts and blue jeans, police said. They were last seen fleeing the area eastbound on foot.
