Streamwood police seek driver in fatal hit-and-run

Streamwood police are looking for the vehicle that struck and killed a 26-year-old California man Tuesday.

Officers were investigating an abandoned semitrailer truck in the westbound lanes of the 500 block of East Lake Street in Streamwood about 7 a.m. when they found body in a culvert along the eastbound lanes, according to a news release.

The man has been identified as Sandeep Singh of Fresno.

Police believe Singh had been the driver of the semitrailer truck but got out and was walking in the eastbound curb lane of Lake Street when he was struck. The vehicle that hit Singh might have damage to the right side.
