Marmion Academy to host 'Mr. Marmion' charity event Feb. 24

On Friday, Feb. 24, Marmion Academy's Student Council along with the Leadership Education and Development Program will host "Mr. Marmion," a mock talent/beauty show to benefit charity. Three members from each class will compete in four different events and a panel of faculty and student judges will determine who will win the coveted 2017 "Mr. Marmion" crown. Various students will also showcase talents throughout the evening.

"Mr. Marmion" is a community event; all current students, prospective students, family members, friends, and community members are invited to enjoy the show and support a wonderful cause.

The contestants in this year's "Mr. Marmion" competition are: seniors Kyle McCullough of St. Charles, Fredy Quevedo of Elgin and Ricky Ruiz of Aurora; juniors Austin Flanagan of Naperville, Will Kane of Aurora and Jack Kirtley of St. Charles; sophomores Jack Dzierzanowski of West Chicago, Elias Flowers of Montgomery and Frankie Motyka of Batavia; and freshmen William Dietz of Geneva, Carlos Liz of Aurora, and Ben Okolita of Geneva.

Show time is at 7 p.m. at Marmion Academy's Alumni Hall, 1000 Butterfield Road in Aurora. Tickets are $7 each or $5 if purchased in advance. To purchase tickets in advance, contact Mark Malkowski at (630) 897-6936, ext. 296, or mmalkowski@marmion.org.

All proceeds will be donated to Ava's Warriors, a local organization that is supporting a Batavia girl who is fighting a courageous battle against a brain tumor. To learn more, visit www.gofundme.com/avas-warriors.
