'I'm Positive, I'm Aging' to be topic of next Hampshire-Henpeck HCE meeting

The Hampshire-Henpeck Unit of Home and Community Education will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Heartland Bank, Route 72 and Warner in Hampshire. Join them for a fun and informative meeting with friends. This month, they will discuss the unit lesson, "I'm Positive, I'm Aging," and play some fun games. Refreshments will be served by hostesses Eileen Miller and Frances Stuehler.

The Kane County Association for Home and Community Education's Fun Day will be held Thursday, March 9, at Advent Christian Church, 905 N. Edgelawn Drive, Aurora. Registration deadline is Thursday, March 2. Cost is $20, which includes lunch and entertainment. This year's topic will be "Lower Your Blood Pressure With Music and Stories," presented by retired school teacher Ed Young. Also, a fundraiser representative, Susan Campbell, a stylist and presenter with Premier Jewelry, will give you an opportunity to enhance your wardrobe. Items are still need for the silent auction.

On a sad note, unit members wish to express their condolences to the family of Pat Lehman, a longtime member of Hampshire-Henpeck HCE. She will be missed.

At the January meeting, special guest Barb Brust gave a talk on events and special features at the Ella Johnson Memorial Public Library in Hampshire, including the new program of Books on Wheels to shut-ins in the library district.
