No injuries in rollover crash in Schaumburg

No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon near the intersection of East Golf Road and Apple Street in Schaumburg that flipped one car on its roof.

Schaumburg police Sgt. Christy Lindhurst said the crash occurred when the driver of a Toyota Yaris traveling north on Apple Street attempted to make a left turn onto westbound Golf Road at about 2:48 p.m. During the turn, which required crossing two lanes of traffic, the Yaris crashed into a Honda Civic driving eastbound on Golf Road.

Lindhurst said the force of the impact and the angle of the crash caused the Yaris to roll over. The two drivers were able to get out of their cars on their own and were not injured, Lindhurst said. A passenger of the Yaris also wasn't injured.

The driver of the Yaris, a 57-year-old man from Michigan, was cited for failure to yield while turning left.

Both cars had to be towed.
