District 50 forum

Woodland Elementary District 50 residents interested in learning more about the district should attend or watch a Board Forum, scheduled for 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Educational Support Center, 1105 N. Hunt Club Road, Gurnee. The forum follows a short special school board meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Unlike a regular school board meeting, a forum process provides for dialogue between those in attendance and the board. Refreshments will be provided and baby-sitting will be available next door at Woodland Intermediate School. Residents can attend the forum in person and interact with board members, but they may also watch via the district's live stream feed through www.dist50.net. Designated board members will present information on several topics, followed by time for questions and answer. The topics are: changing enrollment and class size; diversity; financial projections and proposed reductions; building utilization.
