Sunday Concert Series to feature Maureen Christine Feb. 5

The St. Charles Public Library Sunday Concert Series will host award-winning Maureen Christine and jazz saxophonist Michael Bazan at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, in the library's Carnegie Community Room, 1 S. Sixth Ave.

They will be accompanied by 2016 Grammy nominee Don Stille on piano and accordion. The trio will pay tribute to musical greats such as Rosemary Clooney, Johnny Mathis, Debbie Reynolds, Elvis, Dave Brubeck and more.

Christine is a national recording artist and concert vocalist who is heralded as "a singer worth crowing about" by the Chicago Tribune. She has opened for Willie Nelson, shared the stage with Barry Manilow and sung for astronaut Buzz Aldrin.

Bazan, director of bands at Wredling Middle School in St. Charles and adjunct saxophone professor at the Conservatory of Music at Wheaton College, is a professional woodwindist. He has played with a number of musical legends, including Cab Calloway, Bob Hope, Frankie Valli, The Platters, The Four Tops, The Buckinghams, Milton Berle, and legendary entertainer Jerry Lewis.

Stille has performed throughout the country with a long list of nationally and internationally acclaimed jazz artists. He has opened for Herbie Hancock and Stephane Grappelli, and performed with entertainers and pop artists of stage, screen, studio and TV fame.

Since 1981, the library has featured a wide variety of musical performances. The public is welcome and the concert is free to attend.
