Fire breaks out in Lake Zurich laundry room

A laundry room in a Lake Zurich home caught fire Thursday afternoon, but the flames were contained to that room, firefighters said.

Firefighters were called just after 3 p.m. to a home on the 200 block of Pine Tree Row and quickly extinguished the blaze, Lake Zurich fire officials said. The fire caused smoke damage throughout the house.

Fire officials estimated the damage at $20,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Several apartments assisted: Barrington Countryside, Countryside, Lincolnshire, and Wauconda.
