Vote was a down payment to Madigan
Just in case you missed it, on Jan. 11, Michelle Mussman made her first installment payment to House Speaker Michael Madigan. She voted again, for the fourth time, to elect him as speaker of the House. That vote is a repayment for the $1.2 million contribution he and his associates made to the Mussman 2016 campaign.
With that money, she was able to flood the district for months with lies and misinformation at the same time assuring her constituents continually that she didn't even know Michael Madigan. There will be more installments in the form of her Madigan-directed votes in the futures, to be sure.
It is especially sad that our district is controlled by a man from an obscure Chicago district that has Mussman on puppet strings. She supports Michael Madigan, even after he has steered this state into a downward spiral by submitting unbalanced budgets, ignoring pension payments, borrowing money to pay the bills and avoiding reforms in education funding. Why do Illinois House Democrats, like Michelle Mussman, continue to vote for him? It appears that Mussman's strategy is to achieve longevity as a State Representative. She must have Madigan's support to achieve this. Is the pursuit of longevity public service?
