Diverse opinions are important

I read your editorial on presenting the news in an unbiased way. I believe that the Daily Herald and the Tribune, which we also subscribe to, do just that. It's their job and they do it very well.

Also, I like that they present opinion writers. who have wide differences of opinion. I read them all. Some who I disagree with most of the time on occasion persuade me. That's their job. Your readers should know the difference between reporters who gather and present the news factually and the opinion writers who put their own spin on it.

That you give space to all opinions is to your credit. I know newspapers are having a rough time these days. Frankly, I think that good newspapers are necessary if we are to maintain a free society.
