Lavelle Law Introduces Immigration Practice Group

Palatine based Lavelle Law has announced the formation of a new practice group that will focus on matters of immigration law. To support the new group, the firm has hired attorney Vishal Chhabria, Chhabria had been in private practice since 2013.

"The need for legal assistance in immigration law has been expanding at an accelerating rate in recent years," said Lavelle Law Managing Partner Ted McGinn. "The issues associated with immigration can be far-reaching. After a thorough analysis we have determined that now is the right time to once again expand the services we offer. Bringing in someone with Vishal's extensive experience provides an immediate benefit to our clients."

Chhabria noted that while deportation removal defense and the pursuit of U.S. citizenship are widely recognized concerns, there are many other issues impacting immigration law including work visas, labor certification, immigration fraud, criminal defense and others that are critical to the immigrant community. "The proliferation of different USCIS forms alone require an experienced hand to manage properly as one error can invalidate a specific request or claim. In addition, immigration laws change very frequently and it is essential that clients are protected as conditions change."

Chhabria was also quick to assert that not all immigration matters involve issues related to citizenship. "There are many immigrants who are risking a lot to start a business here and they need assistance in making sure that all corporate requirements are properly addressed." He said that the ability to walk down the hall to bring in attorneys from other practice groups is what attracted him to Lavelle Law. "I can now draw on decades of experience in business formation, taxation, criminal defense and other areas, and those attorneys can bring immigration related issues to me.
