Bartlett 4th of July Fest needs new volunteers

Calling all Bartlett residents - America needs you to help plan its birthday party.

The Bartlett 4th of July Committee is seeking new volunteers to help prepare and run the village's 4th of July Fest.

The fest, which has always been run by residents independently of the village government, is more than 25 years old. Many of the original, older members of the committee have since stepped down, reducing its size and threatening the elimination of several popular activities at the fest due to a lack of volunteers.

Membership Chair Wayne Johnson said the committee is a third as large as should be, and needs more than 20 new volunteers to help make the fest what it was in the past. The committee meets on the second Monday of every month throughout the year.

Johnson is asking potential volunteers to contact him at either (630) 289-5088 or wayne@topspinsec.com.

Further information about the committee and its work can be found at bartlett4thofjuly.com and facebook.com/Bartlett4thOfJuly/.
