Wolves win 8th straight

The Chicago Wolves scored five goals in the opening two periods and rolled to a 5-2 victory over the Charlotte Checkers before 13,214 on Saturday night at Allstate Arena. The Wolves pushed their winning streak to eight games, which is their first eight-game run since February 2010.

Center Wade Megan contributed 3 points (1G, 2A) in the second period while Bryce Gervais, Jordan Schmaltz, Ivan Barbashev and Reid McNeill also scored for the Wolves (21-11-3-2).

Rookie goaltender Ville Husso stopped 22 shots to earn his fifth consecutive win. Charlotte goaltender Daniel Altschuller (2-3-0) allowed all five goals before being replaced by C.J. Motte for the third period.
