Apple Inc., demos Final Cut, MacBook Pro at club party

Members and guests of the Chicago Creative Pro Users Group were treated to an evening with Apple Inc., that included a presentation touting the new features of Final Cut Pro X and to try some hands on editing with the company's new MacBook Pros with Touch Bar.

The presentation took place during the club's annual Wrap Party, held at the Metropolitan Club in the Willis Tower on Tuesday, Dec. 6. Apple's Senior Project Managers Steve Bayes and Luke Tristram were on hand to take the audience through all the new features of Final Cut Pro X, that included an intuitive new design and features that made heavy use of the company's touch bar featured on the MacBook Pro.

Other highlights of the evening included the group's "awesome raffle," with prizes totaling more than $17,000. Big winners for the night were Tony Abasolo, winning an all-access pass to the Editors Retreat, donated by Future Media Concepts, and a 16 TB Thunderbay 4 RAID 5 donated by OWC; Mary Ann Sochacki, a MacBook Pro with Touch Bar; and Brian Kaempen, an LG Ultrafine 4K Display, both prizes donated by the Chicago Creative Pro Users Group.

CCPUG club members hail from Arlington Heights, Palatine, Lake Bluff, Rolling Meadows, Libertyville, Hoffman Estates, Batavia, Des Plaines, Northbrook, Glenview and Chicago.
