Lake in the Hills seeks nominees for holiday lights contest

Lake in the Hills is seeking nominations for its Holiday Lights Decorating Contest & Tours.

Residents can nominate their own creations or a neighbor's work. Judging will take place Dec. 15-17 during the Holiday Lights Bus Tour.

Winners will receive a gift certificate to a business in town. All registrants will have their address posted on the village website.

Categories include: Best Rookie Award (first-time entries only), Best Overall Display, and the Clark Griswold Award. Register by calling (847) 960-7460 by 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Anyone interested can travel around town to see the sights and lights while serving as a judge for the contest.

Bus leaves at 6 p.m. each night from village hall. Preregistration with payment is required. Hot chocolate will be provided.
