Join in second annual Haley's Holiday Saturday

On Saturday, Dec. 10, the second annual Haley's Holidays will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. at Cary-Grove High School, 2208 Three Oaks Road, Cary. There is a suggested entrance donation of $5 per person or $15 per family.

It began in 2014 when the humanities class came up with a class project to cheer up Haley Lichter, a 2013 Cary-Grove graduate who later passed away from a brain tumor, and help celebrate her favorite holiday. "Haley's Holidays" is a fun family event filled with free entertainment for the kids and holiday shopping for the parents.

Funds raised will be donated to Bea's Family. Bea's mom grew up in Cary. "Beatrice ("Bea"), is the sweetest, strongest, and smartest little 2-year-old girl that you could ever hope to meet. On Nov. 19 after a trip to the emergency room for some unexplained vomiting, Bea was diagnosed with a medulloblastoma brain tumor on her cerebellum.

Bring the kids out for some fun family entertainment and get some holiday shopping done along the way. They will have local, handmade craft vendors and some of your favorite vendors, including LuLaRoe, Scentsy, Pampered Chef, Roden and Fields, to name a few.

There will be bounce houses, face painting, kids crafts and Santa. Snacks and beverages for sale. The silent auction, which ends at 5:30 p.m., will feature authentic sports memorabilia including Chicago Cubs.

Founded in 2015, in memory of Haley Lichter, Heroes Like Haley is an Illinois-based 501(c)(c3) charitable organization. The board of directors is dedicated to raising community awareness toward pediatric brain tumors, implementing college scholarships for Cary-Grove High School students, providing financial support and improving the quality of life for local pediatric cancer patients, survivors and families.
