Worker at Batavia massage business charged with prostitution

A worker at a Batavia massage parlor is accused of offering to perform a sexual act on an undercover officer, officials said.

Jue Xiang, 35, of the 200 block of West 22nd Place, Chicago, was charged with one count each of prostitution and practicing massage therapy without a license, both misdemeanors, according to Batavia police.

Police conducted a compliance check around 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Gem Spa, 330 E. Wilson St. An undercover officer received a massage from Xiang, and she offered to perform a sex act for extra money, police said.

She was released after posting $150 bond and is scheduled to appear in a Kane County branch court on Dec. 20.

Batavia police said it is the second prostitution arrest at the establishment in seven months.

The previous arrest at Gem Spa occurred on May 12 after a similar compliance check by Batavia police. That case is still pending.
