Volunteers Needed to Help Disadvantaged Kids Shop for Holidays

The Woodfield Area Children's Organization is looking for volunteers to help Santa and the nonprofit take 500 disadvantaged preschoolers Christmas Shopping in December. This is the 24th year of WACO's shopping tours.

One half of the children will shop at the Elk Grove Village Wal-Mart, 801 Meacham Road on Saturday, Dec. 3. And the other half will shop at the Elgin Wal-Mart, 1100 S. Randall Road on Saturday, Dec. 10. Volunteers are needed for both days, and need to check in by 7 a.m.

The children will arrive with their wish lists and be paired up with a volunteer. WACO allots $80 per family.

WACO needs several adults and high school students to help the children shop, and others to wrap all the gifts. Bilingual volunteers are also in demand. There is no early sign up, so please be sure to arrive on time.
