Children meet Santa during Schaumburg tree lighting

Schaumburg's annual holiday tree-lighting ceremony Friday night included caroling and a visit from Santa Claus.

Santa arrived at the Prairie Center for the Arts with an escort from the Schaumburg Fire Department. The plaza tree is decorated with ornaments crafted by area youth groups and organizations.

After the tree lighting, Santa met with children in the Prairie Center's Maggie Atcher Theatre.
