Camp Reinberg in Palatine taking winter reservations

Winter camping reservations for four of the Forest Preserves of Cook County new and revitalized campgrounds are now being accepted for Jan. 1 through March 31. Residents and visitors can enjoy camping at Camps Reinberg in Palatine, Sullivan in Oak Forest and Bullfrog Lake in Willow Springs throughout winter; there is limited availability of heated cabins at some campgrounds in addition to tent camping and RVs. Camp Dan Beard in Northbrook will also be open for winter camping to large groups only.

Camping reservations can be made online at fpdcc.com/camping-reservations; by phone at (855) YES-CAMP (937-2267); or in person at Forest Preserves General Headquarters, 536 N. Harlem in River Forest, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on business days. Reservations can also be made by calling the camps directly during office hours. Information is at fpdcc.com/camping. Campground have snowshoes and cross-country skis available for registered campers to rent.
