Palatine Freemasons Celebrating Long History in Palatine

The Palatine Masonic Lodge has a rich history in Palatine, Illinois. On Sunday, November 20th members from the Palatine Masonic Lodge gathered to take photos commemorating their history as Palatine turns 150.

The Masons being Palatines oldest organization originally met on the third floor at 60 N. Bothwell, which is now the Lamplighter Inn Tavern and Grille from 1859 to 1904. The third floor was damaged by fire and had to be removed. The meeting area was then moved to the second floor of the building which is still there to this day. In 1904 the Masons built their own building at 1 Palatine Rd. where the Rotary Plaza is currently located. The Lodge then moved six years ago to its current location at 455 W. Dundee Rd., Palatine, Illinois. The Palatine area has enjoyed Masonry non-stop since 1859.
