Rand Road closure in Des Plaines starts Wednesday
Rand Road will be closed at the Union Pacific railroad crossing in Des Plaines starting Wednesday for track repairs, Illinois Department of Transportation officials said.
The street will be closed, weather permitting, until Friday. A posted detour will direct southbound traffic on Rand to go east on Golf Road and south on River Road to reconnect with Rand. Northbound traffic will take the reverse route.
Officials say motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through the area.
