Teen who was shot, killed in Waukegan identified

A teen who was shot to death Friday evening in Waukegan has been identified, police said Monday.

Police believe Dayviontay T. Jackson, 17, of Waukegan, was shot in the common area of a multiunit residence in the 400 block of McKinley Avenue after an argument escalated, Waukegan said in a news release.

Police found Jackson lying at the base of a staircase at about 8:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
