Palatine chamber to host business expo

The Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce is holding its first Business Expo and Community Showcase from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Falcon Park Recreation Center, 2195 N. Hicks Road.

This new event is open to the public, admission is free, and all attendees will receive one free entry into the basket raffle.

This family-friendly day will include more than 50 business vendors, live demonstrations, a kids area, live entertainment, giveaways, a 50/50 cash raffle, a basket raffle, and concessions available for purchase from Edelweiss Delicatessen and Catering, Chicago Culinary Kitchen, and Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce.

The presenting sponsor for this event is Palatine Park District, the entertainment sponsor is BMO Harris Bank, the platinum sponsor is Palatine Bank & Trust, and gold sponsors include BMO Harris Bank, Kids Kustom Parties and Palatine Public Library District.

The Kids Entertainment Area will include balloons with The Great Sobotka, face painting by Positive Strokes Art School, a chocolate craft with Morkes Chocolates, a soccer challenge by Soccer City, airbrush tattoos from Kids Custom Parties, a build-a-water-filter station provided by MeritCorp, an obstacle course with JP Wood Martial Arts, activities with the Palatine Police Department, and roaming characters and mascots from Palatine Bank & Trust, Kids Custom Parties, BMO Harris Bank, and Palatine Park District.

A variety of live entertainment will also be showcased, including Kids Custom Parties at 10:30 a.m., Chicago Culinary cooking demo at 11:30 a.m., Animal Quest animal show at 12:30 p.m., Palatine Police K-9 demo at 1:30 p.m., Music on Stage performance at 2:15 p.m., Palatine Rocks Singing Contest performers at 2:45 p.m. and a Palatine Park District Dance performance at 3:15 p.m.

Tickets for the 50/50 raffle will be available for purchase through Nov. 12. Tickets are $10 or three for $25 and are available from any chamber board member or by contacting the chamber office at (847) 359-7200.
