Waukegan man facing weapons charges
A 39-year-old gang member from Waukegan who faces felony weapons charges is being held in Lake County jail on $75,000 bail, authorities said.
Larry Myers, Jr. is charged with two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon by a street gang member and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
Members of the Lake County Sheriff's Gang Task Force pulled over a vehicle near North Jackson Street and Low Avenue in Waukegan because of a traffic violation about 9 p.m. Oct. 31, the sheriff's office said.
Myers was a passenger inside the vehicle, according to a news release by the sheriff's office.
Task force detectives determined Myers was in possession of a loaded semiautomatic handgun, the news release stated. Myers then was taken into custody.
His next court date is 1:30 p.m. Dec. 1.
