Polling place locations change in Schaumburg, Wheeling townships

Voters in 19 precincts in suburban Cook County will have a new polling place for the Nov. 8 Presidential Election, Cook County Clerk David Orr announced Wednesday.

The changes include Schaumburg Precinct 26 moving from Gospel Presbyterian Church to Schaumburg Prairie Center; Schaumburg Precinct 76 moving from Gospel Presbyterian Church to Schaumburg Church of God; Wheeling Precincts 8, 34 and 57 moving from Our Saviours Lutheran Church to Thomas Middle School; Wheeling Precinct 36 moving from American Legion Merle to Windsor School.

There are 1,599 precincts in suburban Cook County and more than 1,000 polling places. While polling places are primarily public buildings, they can change for a variety of reasons, such as safety issues, construction projects or space constraints.

Households impacted by these changes will receive a postcard alerting them of the new polling locations.
