Forsling questionable for Friday's Chicago Blackhawks game

Joel Quenneville said rookie defenseman Gustav Forsling was "better" Tuesday after leaving Monday's shootout loss to Calgary with an upper-body injury.

Forsling was hurt early in the second period when 6-foot-2, 208-pound Lance Bouma checked him into the boards. Forsling, who was slow to get up, went to the locker room and did not return.

"We'll see how he is over the next couple of days," said Quenneville, who added Forsling is questionable for Friday's game at New Jersey.

With Trevor van Riemsdyk out about a month, the Hawks are down to six defensemen, but Quenneville doesn't expect the team to call anyone up from Rockford. Michal Rozival got his first start Monday, playing 16:39 with 1 shot on goal, 3 hits and 2 blocked shots.

"We've still got enough 'D' here," Quenneville said. "I like Rozy's game last night. He was fine."
