Intelligent, capable

Before we vote, it's always important to consider which candidate will do the least amount of harm to our country.

In this election, that candidate is Hillary Clinton. Is she a perfect candidate? No, but she is intelligent, capable, experienced and knowledgeable about the workings of government and America's position in the world.

We can be reasonably assured that she'll appoint intelligent advisers and won't lead us over a cliff.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, is unfit to be president. His candidacy would be laughable if it weren't so frightening. The Republican Party should hang its head in shame for foisting this fool on the American people.

He is a narcissist, a bigot and a racist. He shows disdain for the handicapped, veterans, taxpayers, women, immigrants, minorities and the free press. He knows nothing of the world outside of himself, and doesn't want to.

In true dictatorial fashion, he perpetuates a pessimistic view of a broken America that only he can fix. He's ignorant and he's dangerous. The world has changed and will continue to change as globalization and technology advance.

Our country must change along with it, but not by moving backward. We need a president who realizes what's at stake and who will provide strong, positive leadership. Hillary Clinton is the candidate who can do that, and is the best choice for president in this election.
