ACFW Welcomes Writers to Critique Night

Writers, from novice to multi-published, are welcome to join the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) "Crit Night" from 6:30-9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 14, in the Program Room of the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. The meeting is free and open to non-members. Focusing on character development, participants will share 1,000 words of an original manuscript and brainstorm with fellow writers. Those who attended the September workshop, "Building Lovable Characters," will critique using skills learned in that session. Attendance at the September workshop is not a prerequisite for the October critique night.

"Crit nights are always a great experience," said ACFW Chicago Chapter Vice President Susan Miura. "All the critiquing is done in a positive environment, and can really lead to stronger and better writing skills. Our group ranges from new writers, hoping to get published, to multipublished authors. All are welcome."

No registration is required. Attendees will leave with practical information for improving their writing and creating realistic, three-dimensional characters. For more information, go to the ACFW Chicago Chapter Facebook page or call ACFW Chicago Chapter President Lara Helmling at (877) 881-2133.
