Eden's family will remember you always

On behalf of the Keehler, Stuckemeyer and VanMeter families, I would like to thank friends, relatives and co-workers for making the Eden Abigail Keehler fundraiser at Nick's Pizza and Pub an overwhelming success.

We appreciate your prayers, emotional and monetary support during this challenging time.

Many people read the front-page feature in the Daily Herald written by Lauren Rohr with photos taken by John Starks. Lauren, a gifted writer, gave us an article that helped to bring in many people to our event, people who might not otherwise have known about it. While visiting with guests at Nick's, I met people who knew no members of our family, but read the article and simply came to help. One man handed me a generous donation and when I asked his name so that I could pass it along to Eden's parents, he smiled and said that wasn't important: he just wanted to help.

Nick's was the absolute best place to hold our event. Nick Sarillo, owner, is a generous man who regularly supports worthy causes in the community. It is, quite simply, his life's work. General Manager Monica Garapolo was with me every step of the way in planning this huge event. She provided extra staff when we realized how big it had grown. Staffers worked very hard and maintained their good humor under pressure.

Special thanks to Aunt Peg for her effort and energy in planning the fundraiser. As Amelia Earhart once said, "A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees." We had an absolute "forest" of new and old friends who showed their love for our precious Eden and her family. Speaking for all of us, I can assure you that we will remember you always.
