Nobody injured in West Dundee house fire

Nobody was injured in a fire Wednesday evening that damaged a West Dundee home, fire officials said.

Upon arriving at the 300 block of South First Street about 6:33 p.m., authorities saw smoke and a small fire coming from the two-story, single-family house, according to a news release from West Dundee Fire Department.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire, which was put out in a little more than 20 minutes, officials said.

Smoke, fire and extinguishing efforts caused about $35,000 in damage to the home, authorities said. The cause of the fire is under investigation, though fire officials believe it was an accident.
