Two girls injured in big fight in Streamwood

Two girls were taken to the hospital with minor injuries following a large fight Tuesday afternoon in Streamwood, authorities said.

Police and firefighter/paramedics responded to the residential area near Club Tree Drive and Lynnwood Court after 4 p.m. for a report of battery with minor injuries, according to Battalion Chief Steve Tomzik of the Streamwood Fire Department.

Tomzik said the fight was over by the time firefighters arrived. The parents of the two girls injured in the fight were not at the scene, so the girls were taken to the hospital even though their injuries were extremely minor, he said.

Police didn't immediately confirm how many people were involved in the fight or if any charges will be issued.
