Mount Prospect Trustee Matuszak won't seek third term

Mount Prospect village Trustee John Matuszak will not be seeking another term in office, saying work commitments will keep him too busy to fulfill the post's duties, according to a news release issued by the village over the weekend.

"I have been truly honored and privileged to serve the residents of Mount Prospect as trustee for two terms," Matuszak said. "Unfortunately, the demands of my position with the Navy have increased over the last several years, which restrict my ability to seek a third term as trustee."

Matuszak said he was recently assigned additional duties with the Navy and is expecting a heavy travel schedule next year as a result.

"Through the cooperative efforts of the all trustees and the mayor, the village is good shape," Matuszak said. "We have accomplished a great deal over the last several years, and I am confident this positive path will continue."
