Have coffee with cops on Oct. 7
Representatives from three police departments will join forces at a coffee session set for Friday, Oct. 7, at Mariano's Fresh Market at Route 22 and Quentin Road in Lake Zurich. Lake Zurich, Kildeer and Hawthorn Woods police will be at the Mariano's-hosted session from 7 to 9 a.m. The idea is for police and residents to come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink coffee. "We hope that community members will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns, or simply get to know our officers," Lake Zurich Police Chief Steven Husak said. Other Lake County police agencies are expected to host similar gatherings Oct. 7, he said.
