Deceptive stunt aims to ruin lawmaker's name

I have been bombarded by mail and even a call claiming state Rep. Michael McAuliffe impersonated a veteran. After doing my research, I learned what I suspected was the case. Merry Marwig has set the bar for a new low in politics - using veterans in a deceptive campaign stunt to ruin McAuliffe's name. Disgraceful.

Rep. McAuliffe has not only been a consistent champion of veterans' issues, where he was named chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee by both Democrat and Republican leaders, but has been an unfailing advocate for the issues impacting those of us here in the 20th District.

Ms. Marwig's mail pieces are paid for by the Democratic Party of Illinois - in other words, Speaker Michael Madigan. Madigan-style antics are an unwelcome sight and should not be tolerated.

What is his motivation to take over our area? Hasn't he done enough damage?

I look forward to voting for the candidate with a demonstrated record of honesty, integrity and commitment to our community, Michael McAuliffe.
