Environment the focus of Batavia Green Fair

The Batavia Green Fair on the Fox Saturday challenged people to make one change in their daily lives to help produce a greener and more sustainable community.

Fair organizers and the Batavia Environmental Commission created Change One, a campaign encouraging local businesses, public officials and residents to make a change for the environment. And in the Walk Your City campaign, fair organizers put up about 20 signs throughout the community telling pedestrians and bike riders how far away they are from certain locations, such as the fair.

Vendors had an opportunity to share information on topics such as preserving herbs, kayaking and meditation. There was a bicycle swap and a clothing swap, a tiny house display, live music, Zumba, dance, martial arts and kids crafts. For information, visit greenfaironthefox.com.
